Just a quick note to say that I'm doing fine and that I've been taking more pictures, still using my old Canon IXUS 60 (although one friend is offering me to get his previous digital SLR for fairly cheap - which is really tempting and would significantly improve the image quality of my works).

My most recent pictures involve a friend whom I've met through other activities and who, upon hearing that I'm building my portofolio, spontaneously volunteered to model and who had no quibles whatsoever about being naked in front of my camera. Even better of a surprise was to notice that she has physical memory, that is, I can tell her to stop into her movement and "rewind" to a posture she was holding just a few seconds before.

My photo retouching skills have also improved dramatically. I'm still using gThumb's build-in cropping and color editing tools for this. It works well, without the added complexities that Gimp would introduce. I like it a lot.

Meanwhile, I stil haven't reach a firm conclusion about what material is worth uploading here. Instead, I've uploaded a few samples to my Model Mayhem account and I've also selected tame shots from my most memorable sessions to upload to my Facebook scrapbook. I haven't had too much feedback on my MM account, but friends regularly "like" the material I've put on FB.

Also, I've finally found a focus for my first exhibition's portfolio:  

1) body landscapes.  

For those unfamiliar with body landscapes, it's basically closeups of nude people made to look as abstract as possible e.g. large stretches of someone's back, with one hip showing in the corner; closeup of the belly really showing the skin's grain upclose, etc.

2) nudity in movement.  

For the second theme, I'm mostly aiming at shooting pictures of athletes or ballet dancers in mid-movement, because I really love seeing a physically fit person in the nude, with the muscles flexing in all sorts of complicated ways and moving in a dynamic way.

I figure that between static shots of abstract nudity and dynamic shots of nude physically fit people, I should have a good balance.
